A Day of Hope and Opportunity: Inside the 2025 Pistis Foundation Scholarship Assessment
Â
On a bright Saturday morning in May 2025, about 500 parents and nearly 1,000 children—eager for a chance at quality education and coming from economically challenged backgrounds within the communities we serve—gathered for the 2025 Pistis Foundation Scholarship Assessment. From the moment families checked in to the final interviews, our team worked tirelessly to ensure everything ran smoothly and that every young participant felt welcome.
Students began the day with a written exam, after which each child sat down for a brief one-on-one session to discuss their interests, challenges, and dreams. At the same time, parents met with our assessment team to share their family circumstances, concerns about school fees, and hopes for their children’s futures. This two-part process helps us identify and support students who show both academic promise and genuine need.
None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our amazing volunteers, staff, and partners. The registration team ensured that parents and children checked in efficiently, exam supervisors maintained order and fairness, counsellors provided support and reassurance, and logistics teams managed refreshments and waiting areas. Thanks to the combined efforts and contributions of everyone involved, the event was a resounding success.
While we are pleased with the turnout, the high number of applicants is a clear reminder of how many Nigerian families still need help accessing quality education. We are committed to expanding our scholarship programme, but we cannot do it alone. If you’re part of a school, business, community group—or simply someone who wants to make a difference—please consider partnering with us.
