For years, Ability lived with the pain and discomfort of a hernia that had affected him since his secondary school days. Despite the debilitating condition, he was unable to afford the necessary medical treatment due to financial constraints. During this time, a home nurse from a local chemist helped him manage his symptoms, encouraging him to seek a more permanent solution—surgery.
When Ability’s sister told him about the 2024 Ubomi Medical and Surgical Outreach, a free healthcare initiative by PISTIS Foundation that brings essential medical services to underserved communities, he finally saw an opportunity to address his condition. Driven by hope and the possibility of regaining his quality of life, Ability travelled from his residence in Akure, Ondo State, to seek treatment in Lagos.
After a medical evaluation, he was diagnosed and deemed a candidate for surgery. Thanks to the expert care and support from the Ubomi Outreach medical team, Ability underwent a successful surgery, marking the beginning of his recovery.
We are pleased that Ability received the treatment he desperately needed and are hopeful for his full recovery. His journey serves as a reminder of the critical importance of accessible healthcare services and how initiatives like the Ubomi Medical and Surgical Outreach are making a profound difference in the lives of individuals across communities.
We wish Ability a smooth and speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him regain his health and vitality.
