Program Officer, Education (NYSC Corps Member)
The Program Officer, Education will support the planning, execution, and monitoring of Pistis Foundation’s education interventions. Under the guidance of the Education Program Manager, you will liaise with schools, beneficiaries, and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of scholarship, teacher‐training, and talent‐development activities for economically challenged communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Support & Coordination
- Assist in the planning and roll‑out of scholarship and teacher‑training initiatives.
- Coordinate logistics for events, meetings, and field activities.
- Help screen and onboard scholarship beneficiaries.
- Maintain up‑to‑date records of program participants and activities.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Support liaison with partner schools (primary, secondary, tertiary) and vocational institutions.
- Attend community and stakeholder meetings; take minutes and follow up on action items.
- Foster positive relationships with NGOs, local education authorities, and parents/guardians.
- Field Monitoring & Data Collection
- Visit project sites to verify beneficiary attendance and program delivery.
- Collect feedback through surveys, focus groups, and informal interviews.
- Document challenges and share insights with the Program Manager for timely resolution.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Compile weekly and monthly updates on program progress and challenges.
- Assist in the preparation of impact assessment and monitoring reports.
- Ensure all program documents are properly filed and archived.
- Volunteer & Intern Coordination
- Support recruitment, orientation, and supervision of volunteers and interns.
- Help assign tasks, track volunteer hours, and provide on‑the‑job guidance.
- Budget & Resource Tracking
- Monitor minor program expenditures and report any variances.
- Assist with procurement of materials, ensuring compliance with budget guidelines.
- Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all activities align with Pistis Foundation’s policies and national education standards.
- Adhere to NYSC regulations and guidelines throughout service year.
Qualifications & Attributes
- NYSC‐eligible graduate with a degree in Education, Social Sciences, or related field preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in field environments
- Basic report‐writing and data‐entry proficiency (Excel, Google Sheets)
- Enthusiasm for community engagement and youth development
- Familiarity with Monitoring & Evaluation concepts is an advantage
