Our KOTS Story...
The journey so far...
Kids Off The Street Shelter (KOTS) is a strategic initiative focused on mitigating the number of homeless children within target communities. It is designed to re-habilitate homeless kids, and successfully reintegrate them into society.Â
Each child must undergo a sponsored formal basic education programme, as well as a specially designed talent development programme. This is achieved through strategic collaboration with established individuals and institutions with shared ideologies, including government agencies, in the bid to invest in a better Nigerian future.
The KOTS shelter opened on Saturday 26th June 2021 with the first batch of 12 children. The second batch of 11 children joined in December 2021 and January 2022. The Pistis Foundation KOTS shelter now houses 23 street children (10 boys and 13 girls).
All 23 children are enrolled in schools, enhancing their learning with the support of tutors at home and have their basic needs provided for.

Sponsor a Tutor
Maths Tutor, English Tutor, Science Tutor, Music Tutor, Soccer Coach, ICT Tutor, Arts Tutor
Sponsor Football Boots
Football boots of sizes 35-42. We need at least 10 Pairs.
Clothing
Boys and Girls (Age 9-14 years)-Tops, Shorts,Trousers,Socks,Underwear, Shoes, Trainers and Sandals
Certified Kids Counsellor
Counsellor is needed once every 2 months and must be of christain background
Optician
Twice a year routine check up
Dentist
Partnership with a dental clinic for quaterly routine check up
Logistics
A bus is needed every Sundays and last Saturdays of the month- You can either lend us on those days with a driver or donate one
Learning Resources
Laptops / Neat story or Inspiring books / Specific Educational Resources will be listed during back to school session / Smart TV
Volunteers
Volunteers are needed but MUST be living in the Island Close to Ajah Axis and willing to put in the time.
Electricals
To reduce cost on electricity bills – Solar Panels, Batteries, and Diesel
Celebrate with us
Make memories with us, birthdays, remembrance, children’s day etc
Sponsor External Development
Exposure to places helps with children development. You can purchase tokens, cards, tickets etc. directly from Museums, Recreational Centres, Art gallery etc. for the kids
Skilled Volunteers Tutor
Skilled Tutors are needed during the Easter and Summer break such as Braiding Tutors, Barbing Tutors and any other skills kids can benefit from.
