Over 17,000 Free Medical Interventions Delivered: UBOMI 8.0 Marks a Record Year for Pistis Foundation​

The Pistis Foundation has once again proven its deep commitment to improving access to quality healthcare for underserved communities through its flagship medical and surgical program, UBOMI.

What started as a mission to deliver 10,000 free medical interventions this year has far exceeded expectations. With the successful completion of UBOMI 8.0, the Foundation has now delivered a total of 17,416 life-changing medical interventions to 5,635 beneficiaries across Lagos — completely free of charge.

Held over five impactful days at Pistis Annex and the Hospital for Trauma & Surgery (HTS) Clinics on Remi Olowude Street, Lekki, UBOMI 8.0 alone provided 9,212 medical interventions to 3,667 beneficiaries.

A Testament to Compassion and Collaboration

“UBOMI has been a blessing to many more lives being impacted this year through the Pistis Foundation, which continues to move forward,” said Godman Akinlabi, Global Lead Pastor of The Elevation Church and Board Chair of the Pistis Foundation.

He expressed deep gratitude to all partners and volunteers whose contributions made the milestone possible.

Speaking on the outreach’s success, Leonard F. Thomas, Executive Director of the Pistis Foundation, shared:

Healing at Scale: What the Numbers Say

The outreach featured an impressive range of free medical services, including:

121 surgeries (with 103 eye surgeries)

1,513 dental procedures

897 eye care treatments

359 eyeglasses dispensed

1,807 consultations

These interventions were made possible by a passionate team of over 130 medical volunteers and 150 non-medical volunteers, supported by technical and hospital partners — Pro-Health International and Hospital for Trauma & Surgery (HTS) Clinics.
